Hi, how can we help?
FAQ
Whether you’re shopping for your daughter’s first period, switching for yourself, or looking for everyday leak protection — we’ve got you covered. Everything you need to know about making the switch to Cheeki.
Absolutely. Our max-absorbency pairs are built for serious flow — designed for 8–10 hours of leak-free protection on your heaviest days, with no pad or tampon backup needed. Lighter days or spotting? A lower-absorbency style keeps you comfortable without the bulk. Everyone’s flow is different, so if yours runs very heavy you might swap to a fresh pair partway through — but most people sail through on a single pair.
Not even a little. They look and feel like your favourite everyday underwear — soft, stretchy and slim. The absorbent layers are knitted into the fabric rather than padded on top, so there’s no crinkle, no bulk and nothing showing under leggings or jeans. Most people genuinely forget they have them on.
Think about your heaviest day, not your average one — that’s the day you want covered. Light flow, spotting or discharge → our lighter styles. Regular to heavy days, or overnight → max-absorbency. If you’re unsure, size up on absorbency; you can always wear those on lighter days too. As a guide, one max-absorbency pair holds roughly what 3–4 tampons would.
On their own — that’s the whole point. They’re designed to fully replace pads and tampons, not sit underneath them. Some people like to pair them with a tampon or cup on their very heaviest day for extra peace of mind, but for the vast majority of days your Cheeki pair is all you need.
Yes. Our underwear is designed to absorb light to moderate bladder leaks — the kind that can happen with a laugh, a sneeze, a workout, or after having kids — and lock away moisture so you stay dry and odour-free all day. Same discreet, comfortable underwear, just doing a slightly different job.If you’re managing heavier or ongoing leakage, we’d always suggest checking in with your doctor too.
It’s one of the easiest, least stressful ways to start. There’s nothing to insert and nothing to “get right” — she just puts them on like normal undies and goes about her day. No leaks at school, no fumbling with products in a bathroom stall, and no anxiety about being caught off guard. For a lot of girls it makes those first few periods feel completely manageable.
So simple. Give them a quick rinse in cold water until it runs clear, pop them in a wash bag, and run them through your machine on cold. Then hang to air dry — that’s it. The wash bag and cold water keep the fabric and absorbent layers performing like new for far longer.
A few small habits go a long way: always wash cold, skip the fabric softener (it coats the absorbent layers and reduces how much they hold), and air dry instead of tumble drying. Treated this way, a single pair keeps performing wash after wash for years rather than months.
With proper care, expect 2–3 years of regular use from each pair — often longer. Compared to constantly restocking disposables, it’s easy to see why one pair pays for itself many times over.
The inner layer wicks moisture away and traps odour, so they stay fresh through the day. A cold rinse before washing prevents staining and keeps them looking new. If a stubborn mark ever lingers, a soak in cold water usually lifts it — just steer clear of hot water and harsh stain removers, which can damage the fabric.
We don’t recommend it. Heat is the one thing that shortens their life, so air drying is best. Lay them flat or hang them and they’ll dry quickly.
Yes — they’re made to move. Stretch, run, jump, lift, ride — all without leaks and without that shifting-pad feeling. They stay put and stay invisible under activewear, which makes them a favourite for sport, gym class, and busy days on your feet.
Our max-absorbency styles are designed for overnight protection, so you can sleep in any position without worrying about leaks onto sheets. For most people they replace the “double up before bed” routine entirely.
Completely. Plenty of people wear them as their regular underwear — period or not — because they’re that comfortable. Soft waistbands, no digging, no bulk. Great for lounging, sleepovers, travel days, or just everyday peace of mind.
No. They’re cut and constructed to look like normal underwear, with no visible padding or lines under clothing. Discreet enough for a school day, a date, fitted clothes — anything.
Check our size guide and go by your usual underwear size — if you’re between sizes, sizing up gives a little extra comfort and coverage without affecting performance. The fit is forgiving and the fabric stretches, so most people land it on the first try.
Yes to both. They’re a comfortable, breathable option for light postpartum flow and for everyday discharge or spotting between cycles. If anything about your postpartum bleeding feels heavy or unusual, please check in with your care provider.
Yes, big time. A single pair replaces hundreds of disposable pads and tampons over its lifetime — which means far less waste heading to landfill, and a lot of plastic and packaging you simply never buy. It’s one of the easiest swaps you can make for less period waste.
It adds up fast. Disposables are an expense you repeat every single month, for decades. A set of Cheeki pairs is an upfront cost that then lasts for years — so after the first few cycles you’re effectively saving money every period instead of restocking. Buying a bundle brings the per-pair cost down even further.
A good starting point is enough to get you through your flow days plus a couple of spares while others are in the wash — many people find 5–7 pairs covers a full cycle comfortably. If you’re buying for everyday leak protection rather than periods, even a few pairs in rotation does the job.
