Sizing
Getting the size right
Order to her hip measurement, not her age. If a tape measure isn’t handy, the pant sizes are there as a cross-check.
| Size | Hip | Kids pant | Adult pant | Pant size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 25–27″ | 7 | — | Kids 7 |
| XS | 28–30″ | 8–10 | — | Kids 8–10 |
| S | 31–34″ | 12–14 | 00–2 | Kids 12–14 · Adult 00–2 |
| M | 35–38″ | 16–20 | 4–8 | Kids 16–20 · Adult 4–8 |
| L | 39–42″ | — | 10–14 | Adult 10–14 |
| XL | 43–46″ | — | 16–18 | Adult 16–18 |
| XXL | 47–50″ | — | 20–22 | Adult 20–22 |
How to measure
- 1
Use a soft tape
A fabric tape gives the most accurate reading.
- 2
Measure the hips
Around the fullest part of the hips and seat.
- 3
Keep it level
Parallel to the floor, and don’t pull it tight.
- 4
Check the number
Between two sizes? Size up. It’s the more comfortable, leak-free fit.
First period? Start here.
Order to her current hip measurement, not her age. She may still be growing, so a pair that fits now is the pair that works now. Exchanges are free if the fit isn’t right.

What makes Cheeki different
Built for teens. Trusted by moms.
Made without PFAS
Independent testing has found PFAS "forever chemicals" in some period products. Cheeki is made without intentionally added PFAS or harmful dyes, and our fabric is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
Soft bamboo viscose for sensitive skin
Most period underwear uses synthetic or cotton-blend fabrics. Cheeki uses viscose made from bamboo — soft, breathable, and gentle against skin through a long day of wear.
Absorbency for her heaviest days
The Seamless Low-Rise Brief holds up to 40ml — around eight tampons' worth — for school, sports and everyday wear. The Teen Bamboo Overnight Brief holds up to 50ml — around ten tampons' worth — and provides up to 12 hours of protection for heavy days and sleep.
A discreet case, included
A plain black zip case that gives nothing away, so a clean pair travels with her — at school, at practice, or sleeping over at a friend's house.
Less waste, every cycle
A teen can go through thousands of pads and tampons. Cheeki is washable and lasts 2+ years, replacing hundreds of disposables along the way.
Breathable through a long day
Bamboo viscose is breathable and moisture-wicking, so she stays comfortable and feeling fresh through school, sports, and overnight wear.
Questions, answered.
The things parents ask before they order.
How is this different from the Teen First Period Kit?
Two differences. The First Period Kit has three pairs instead of two, so she always has a clean one while the others are in the wash. And it comes with the Cheeki Period Pouch — quilted cream with embroidered bows, nylon-lined — rather than the plain black case. It's $89.
Is two pairs enough?
It depends how she's using them. Two is enough if she's wearing period underwear for part of her cycle and something else the rest of the time, which is how most girls start. If she wants to wear them for the whole cycle, she'll need to wash every day or two — and three pairs is the more comfortable number.
What size should I order?
Both pairs come in the same size, so you're choosing once. Check the size guide against what she wears now rather than her age — teens vary enormously at the same age.
How do you wash them?
Rinse in cold water, then machine wash cold and hang dry. No fabric softener — it coats the absorbent layer and shortens its life. Nothing she can't do herself.
What if they don't fit?
Exchange them for another size. Sizing a teen from a chart is guesswork, and getting it wrong shouldn't cost you the kit.
